Dear Students, Parents, Friends:
Teaching piano lessons is a privilege for me because the nature of the subject leads to the discovery of so many parallels within other areas of life. I want you all to know that I take this profession seriously and look forward to sharing our experiences of music and life, together.
Using the links above, please browse through the information in my Welcome page, Studio Policies, and Philosophy of Teaching Statement . After reviewing them, email me any additional questions you may have. (If you would like a printed copy of this material, simply click on "Resources" and download the printable brochure.) When you are ready to begin, we will schedule an interview and sample lesson. This complimentary, first meeting is an opportunity for us to meet each other and for you to make a more informed decision about piano lessons with me in particular. I suggest to all prospective students that they should take the time and trouble to interview two other teachers and visit their studios as well. Your money is not well spent if you are not comfortable and confident in the teacher you are entrusting.
Thank you for your interest, time, and effort in taking lessons with me. I look forward to meeting you soon!
Sincerely,
Rashna Kowalski

» On My Way to India & Bali
Nov 1, 2011
Dear Kowalski Piano Studio Students and Families:
I thank all of you for your enduring patience with our lesson schedule this semester. The studio will be closed November 1-27, 2011, as I extend my travels to Rishikesh, India for a 2-week yoga teacher certification retreat, and then travel on to Bali, Indonesia to meet up with my brave husband, Jerry, and meet him there for his cousin's wedding.
I will be adding some files to the website which you can choose to upload and work on while I am gone if you so desire.Just click on the Resources tab listed in the above menu. I promise to bring back a trinket for you if you can complete any one of the following:
1) Play a piece of music for me when I return; you can choose a Christmas carol, a song from your Lesson or Performance books, a song from the ones I upload to the file library, or any other piece you find.
OR
2) Fill out the answers to the music quiz which I will upload... these are not answers which you will automatically know. You will have to Google or look up the answers online or with a dictionary or encyclopedia!
OR
3) Fill in one of the three note-speller pages to complete a story about Christmas.
I am still trying to get a better internet connection from India to upload all the files. Keep checking the "Files" link to see when they are available! See you soon.
